Renovation with a Vision in Detached Stone Property
We were approached by the property owners to help in transforming their new mid century property into a newer aesthetic that suited their contemporary lifestyle. The clients already had years of renovation experience, having renovation many properties throughout the last 20 years so they had a clear vision of what they wanted to acheive. We provided a full turnkey service that included the updating of their external windows, taking down an internal wall and inseting an RSJ and constructing a cinema room in the lower ground floor, as well as resdesigning their kitchen space in the former dining room.
The windows, which were a previous white upvc design were updated with black aluminium frames which dramatically changed the look of the house. The gable end of the property was transformed by adding a picture window in the living space, which gave a new external view out to the front of the property. Two smaller windows were blocked up and bi-fold doors added as the entrance to the cinema room below.
Within the new kitchen area, the central wall was taken down to create one larger area rather than two smaller rooms. The wall opposing the rear garden had bi-fold doors fitted which brought a lot of light into the kitchen area and provided a clear view from the rear garden over the fantastic views of the Wharfe Valley from the window on the opposite wall.
The kitchen renovation consisted of a Shaker style kitchen, the Mornington Vale range in two contrasting colours of Chalk White for the cabinets and Dry Rose for the kitchen island. The freestanding pantry cupboard was finished in Farrow and Ball Brinjal, and complements the colour scheme for the whole room.
